Objective: Use VR as a tool to understand jet engines and their different configurations
Work: Modeling, animation, VR interactions and interface
This project was a proof-of-concept to demonstrate how VR can be used as a teaching tool, especially in the aeronautic field. Our current demonstrator replicates an engine testing room with a functionnal F-15 turbo jet engine, with rotating blades and combusting fuel. Thanks to VR, you can put your head into the reactor while it's working.
Next versions will allow you to turn post-combustion on and off, and will offer multiple jet engine types to switch from. We are also currently 3D scanning multiple existing engines to display in the room with information panels.
